How to revolutionize the structure of trade? With this motivation, the two founders Erich Schneider and Werner Klein started their company in 1951. The idea: anyone who wanted to improve their own home should be able to find suitable products for it. 70 years later, SUKI is a successful system supplier and offers every do-it-yourself customer a huge product range with which they can implement their own ideas – from smaller projects to complex undertakings.

SUKI describes its philosophy with the three words: reliable, dynamic, problem solver. The company, which has extensive knowledge of the industry and its product range, sees itself as a partner to retailers, developing new concepts for the DIY sector and accompanying changes in the retail sector with solutions tailored to their needs. SUKI states that it analyzes the specific challenges of the industries very intensively in order to be able to offer suitable individual solutions at any time. The company sees itself as dynamic, communicative and open to new ways of offering products and services to DIY and specialist retailers.

The impressive logistics of SUKI

The logistics of the DIY supplier can be described as highly professional. Two interconnected halls cover an area of around 28,000 square meters. The company’s conveyor technology is integrated into this. In total, internal logistics has two automated small parts warehouses (AS/RS) with a total of 7,000 storage locations for order picking and another AS/RS for shipping processing. This fully automated logistics system from direct store delivery, central warehouse delivery, cross-docking processing, FOB and promotions, covers all shipping options. In total, SUKI has two TGW Panther container rack controls and one TGW Commissioner. In addition, an extensive conveyor system from the manufacturer TGW is in operation in the construction stages BFT 300 and BFT 2000.

The history of SUKI and TELOGS

“Our logistics work quickly, efficiently and reliably at all times.” reads a statement on the company website. Since 2011, TELOGS has been doing its part to ensure that this statement is true at all times. The intralogistics specialist from Wettenberg in Hesse has been supporting SUKI as a service partner for ten years. From day one, SUKI’s service needs were taken care of in night shifts, according to intralogistics professional Sascha Troge of TELOGS. “During the day, the warehouse has to run! After all, uninterrupted availability guarantees exactly what SUKI is known for in the market. Fast delivery times, maximum reliability and unconditional delivery reliability. It’s clear that we support this,” says Troge.

Service from TELOGS – as individual as the needs of SUKI

SUKI sees the special feature of the long-standing customer relationship, among other things, in the fact that TELOGS would adjust the maintenance times to the operating times and workloads on a daily basis. This flexible fast maintenance concept would have the advantage for SUKI not to be slowed down by unplanned shutdown or downtime.
In addition to scheduled service, TELOGS also performs emergency repairs. The plants, the conditions on site and the requirements are well known, reports Sascha Troge. Since the company has the necessary manpower and technical know-how, it has already been commissioned to carry out extensive repairs, including the replacement of individual conductor rails, travel wheels and drives.

Process establishment as the basis for optimization

In order to make service and maintenance more efficient, SUKI established an agreed process with TELOGS: Before each maintenance, the maintenance specialist is informed whether and which additional orders should be carried out in the course of maintenance. The maintenance process was also made more efficient for both parties by giving the on-site service specialist direct access to the SUKI spare parts warehouse. The maintenance staff are now more independent and faster in their work. This type of process presupposes a level of trust that has been earned on both sides, the responsible operations managers from both companies agree.

suki.international GmbH is part of the Serafin group of companies, whose philosophy goes back to the 150-year entrepreneurial tradition of the shareholder family.

“We at SUKI describe ourselves with the words reliability, problem solver and dynamic. So a partner who embodies these same qualities is also important to us. We have found that in TELOGS.”

is how Ralf Yilmaz describes the relationship between the two companies. The operations manager from Landscheid is responsible for group logistics at SUKI.
