TELOGS hoist replaces crane rope hoist

Until the mid-1990s, so-called electric wire rope hoists from various manufacturers, such as Demag or Stahl, from the crane technology sector were frequently used as hoists for vertical conveyors and storage and retrieval systems. Today, operators of such plants often face the problem that spare parts for this technology are difficult to obtain. This has a detrimental effect on operating costs and plant availability. Due to these general conditions, TELOGS has developed a RetroFit concept to replace such plants with standard components. A newly designed hoist adapted to the existing conditions of the vertical conveyors or stacker cranes is installed in place of the rope hoist. In contrast to the original design with fine and main hoist drive, the TELOGS hoists are driven by a frequency-controlled geared motor.

Among other things, the new design allows the use of standard drive components, preferably from SEW, thus reducing maintenance and servicing costs. In addition, the design takes into account the use of as many standard parts as possible, so that the stock of spare parts is kept to a minimum.

In this way, TELOGS has already modernized more than fifteen plants in the past ten years. The consistently positive experiences prove that the concept has proven itself in practice.
